My paintings are abstract works in oils or acrylics on canvas and paper. They are multi-layered and textural with bold brush strokes. My focus is on the process of making a painting, which is a meditative intuitive experience where the outcome is often unexpected. The coasts of Britain, the southern Mediterranean and the landscapes of the Chiltern Hills often provide my inspiration. Turner - described by John Ruskin as 'the father of modern art' - is a huge influence on my work and I can spend a whole day immersed in the Turner collection at Tate Britain.

Originally from Cambridgeshire and Hong Kong, I now live near Oxford, where I practice from my studio. I received a BA (Hons) degree in Graphic Design at De Montfort University, following which I worked as graphic designer and ran a furniture design business with my husband whilst raising a family. I now work as a painter and also as a graphic designer for my business Pangolinn.

My paintings are available to buy directly from myself. If you see a painting you like on my website, please get in touch and I can let you know its availability, price and how to buy. If you are looking for a specific sized piece or colour palette that works for your interior, or if you would like to buy a giclée prints on paper or canvas, please get in touch via the contact form or email me and we can discuss your requirements.

Perhaps you would like to delve into abstract painting but are not sure where to start… is there a wall in your house crying out for the perfect artwork created by you? I believe everyone has their own unique creative instinct to draw upon and has the capability of creating beautiful work.

In this taster workshop I will help you tap into your creative instincts and develop a spontaneous and intuitive approach to painting in acrylics. The aim is to learn to let go and enjoy the immediacy of the creative process.

We will start with looking at the basics of painting in acrylic, colour and mark making, before doing some energetic painting exercises aimed at stimulating that instinctive response. You will work on paper before painting on a canvas which you will take away with you. By the end of the workshop, I hope you will have a greater confidence, and you will have a painting ready to hang in your home - just turn up and enjoy the creative process!

All levels are very welcome. I aim to provide a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where you can create freely.

What's provided?

• All art materials and a ready to hang canvas

• Guidance from me (but feel free to do your own thing)

• A welcome glass of Prosecco or sparkling elderflower

Please bring an apron or clothes you don't mind getting messy and any of your own materials if you wish.
